Guide to Fun in the Northwest
Picture this: an internationally renowned city - famous for its music, arts, food and culture, surrounded by the Puget Sound, Olympic Mountain Range, and Pacific Ocean on the West; Lake Washington and the Cascade Mountain Range on the East; British Columbia, Canada, to the North; Portland, Oregon and the wonderful vineyards of California to the South. It's no wonder that this area is so rich in fun things to do!
The Pacific Northwest offers endless seasonal activities. What do you want to do? Chances are you won't have to travel too far to do it! Each town has it's own seasonal activities, from Woodinville's All Fools' Parade, to Issaquah's Salmon Days Festival. Spring brings the Tulip Festival - mile after endless mile of breathtaking color, and sightings of the Orca wales as they migrate to Alaska. Summer brings concerts in the Columbia Gorge, Hot Air Balloons, Bumbershoot - the Seattle arts festival, and the Pacific Northwest Arts and Crafts Fair in Bellevue. Fall brings Octoberfest at Leavenworth, The Washington Fair (one of the largest in the country), mushroom harvesting, pick-your-own pumpkin from the many Great Pumpkin Patches, and sightings of the Orca Wales as they migrate South for the winter. Winter brings "Christmas Lights" on Lake Washington - boats tour the lake all decked out for the holidays, Christmas Caroling in Seattle, and guided river rafting bald eagle sighting tours.
